Education
Dr. Andrea Silverman’s belief that learning is a lifelong process is evident in her educational background. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1982 followed by a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Windsor in 1986.
Following two years of undergraduate science studies, she was granted early acceptance and a Merit Scholarship to the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry in 1992. Dr. Silverman graduated with Honours in 1996 and received several awards for proficiency in Crown and Bridge Prosthodontics.
Training
Dr. Silverman practiced as an associate dentist in Windsor before taking over the practice of now-retired, Dr. Douglas Bell, in 1998. In 2002, she also welcomed the former patients of Dr. Edward Swartz and in 2014, Dr. Ken Machina entrusted her with his patients upon his retirement. She is truly honoured by the confidence placed in her by these professionals over the years.
Dr. Andrea Silverman’s Practice
Dr. Silverman enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry and has a particular interest in restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers or implants. She routinely attends containing education programs as new methods and technology become available. She offers each patient a variety of options and discusses the risks and benefits of each procedure before starting any treatment.
Home Life
Dr. Silverman and her husband are the proud parents of two sons, Justin, a footwear developer for Adidas in Portand, OR and Jonathan, a medical school student. She enjoys practicing yoga and recently completed the requirements to be certified as a yoga instructor. She has discovered that her anxious patients have benefited from a variety of relaxation techniques. She also enjoys downhill skiing and taking her feisty English Springer Spaniel, Charlie, to the dog park.
Dr. Silverman is also a proud supporter and participant in the Dragon Boat Races.
